Once in a while, Groupon has this promotion where they give you a $5 off any deals. Being a cheap ass (and broke ass) that I am, I totally took advantage of this deal. And why not? If it’s free food, I am most likely in! Anyway, I didn’t want to pay anything, so I decided on a $5 Groupon to Emily’s Teriyaki and Pho.
I haven’t had teriyaki in a while, so I got tofu teriyaki with mushroom and broccoli and fried rice on the side, while Ben got pretty much the same order, except he got yakisoba instead of rice.

The whole thing was pretty good. The tofu was nice and crispy, the vegetables were fresh and not overcooked, and the fried rice had a nice flavor. Ben said that he also liked his yakisoba. I guess my only complaint is that the mushroom was undercooked, almost raw actually. Also, I would’ve preferred if the veggies and tofu were mixed together with the sauce (they served the sauce on the side.) Ben’s complaints were the undercooked mushroom and that his teriyaki sauce was too sweet.
Overall, it was a pretty decent meal. Considering I only paid a couple of dollars (plus the tip), I really can’t complain. I also saw that they had vegan pho, and I haven’t had it in a while, so we might be back. Also, they have an awesome happy hour drink menu that I wouldn’t mind taking advantage of.
WOO FREE/CHEAP EATS!
